The White Entry
Loyal readers:
Holy crap, it's been a long time. I can't believe the page went white. But hey -- I've been on the move.
So, here's the update, for those of you who haven't seen me in person recently. I spent the last three weeks or so in Pasadena, looking for a house and starting my new job. Unfortunately, I haven't found a place yet. The dog is a major issue. Nobody within biking distance of my school wants to rent his apartment to a dog-owner for less than a billion dollars a month. (Side note: Colonel Rhombus, who goes to my new school, says that gender-specific language like that isn't going to fly at the seminary. So look forward to a new gender-inclusive Lazlo Files.)
Speaking of Cl. Rhombus, I saw several excellent shows during my time in Pasadena. Not only did I get to see a thoroughly rockkus JUUNE show at The El Rey (everything in LA has a "the" on it, including the highways and some of the people), but I got blown away by Books Died On at The Gig in Hollywood. It was a great show, and I was sincerely impressed with BDO's rockability and Mr. Boddy's delightful stage antics. You haven't seen that boy dance until you've seen him boogie to the lonesome beat of a sampler. Sadly, their show at The Scene in Glendale was hijacked by electronic failures and bad sound, so it never really got to reach its full rock potential.
Back to the update, though. Baby spent most of those three weeks in Beaumont taking care of her mom, who broke one of her knees, and helping her best friend prepare for her wedding. However, for three and a half magical days, Baby joined me for in Pasadena for her birthday. We had dinner at a great Thai restaurant with a mixed group of old and new friends.
So, I'm back in Austin for the next couple of weeks. Baby and I will be celebrating our anniversary tomorrow, and then going to the beach with my family for a weekend. Watch this space for tales of sunburn and driving.

hey, welcome back.
