i'd like to start this post off with a ba-dump-ching!
i'm currently at the Burbank (Goulet!) Airport paying for 2 hours of ATT wi-fi. the $4 isn't much but wifi should be a free service - some sort of icing on the cake of the war on terror - but no, i have to pay for internets while i wait for my flight.
i'm off to Omaha and the to South Dakota to see the newest member of my family, Max Rupert. i'm excited to meet him and see Luke, whom I haven't seen since Christmas (?)... or way way earlier. I can't even remember. It's been forever.
i had a bit of a fauxpaux, i hacked my iphone the other day and was all excited to eventually post about it. but then! just moments before i go to the airport, iPhone totally wiped out my whole address book. using some hackery, i managed to get some people back. but anyone pre-2001 has been obliterated. sad times. hopefully i can piece it all back together.
i like turdles.
well, i better get back to doing some work - i'm getting better at this whole developer thing every day. thankfully i can work from anywhere.
ps. i'll be in austin next week for an official business trip, if you austinites want to have a dance party - call me and we'll boogie (as an added bonus: i'll have your phone number again).
Last Wednesday whilst trying to beat the record heat hitting Los Angeles, I was sitting at my computer - which i do all day - and because I was thinking about it - which i do all day - I decided to check Best Buy (dot com) to fantasize over getting a flat panel LCD HDTV. So I boot up the old internets only to find an advertisement for a sale on the front page advertising 'up to $500'. "what is this?" i think to myself. so i click and immediately begin searching for the TV that i had my heart set on: the Sharp Aquos 37" 1080p HDTV with Vyper Gaming Drive. The fact that the word "gaming" appears in the name of the TV i want should accurately be read: "Dave's a geek".
The Sharp Aquos 37" isn't listed on the sale items however... BUT! The Aquos 42" is! WHaAAAAQAAA!
Immediately my Expensive Purchase Paranoia Disorder (EPPD) kicks in and i start hyperventilating and running in and out of my room getting my housemates opinion on the matter while calling my girlfriend, my co-workers and basically anyone who I think will say "Dude! Buy it!"
After an afternoon of subjecting myself to convincing arguments, I decided I'd at least go up to Best Buy with DaveL. and see just how big a 42" TV is. I had my heart set on the 37" - which i thought was the perfect size for a TV. it modesty says "I like gadgets and TV, but I'm not flagrant." Would the 42" TV be too big???
