I'm so happy today. Not only do I have my beautiful new macintosh, my local conbini -where everyone who works there on any day at any time knows me by name, and often ask how my family and long distance girlfriend are doing- this conbini now has MOUNTAIN DEW!! HALLE-FALLUJAH!

this is my new macbook pro and it is completely awesome. i bought it on tuesday in the rain. it's my crowning achievement in expensive purchases. i decided so quickly. i'm typically unable to make a purchase over $200 without spending a day or ten mulling it over. however i bucked up and emptied out my wallet.

i ahve to say it's quite a fun machine. i'm giddy with girly joy over it. i close the lid and stroke the aluminum casing. beautiful. here's some pictures that i've already taken with the Built-In iSight.

look forward to more multimedia incorporated blogs in the future. and dare i say... PODCAST!??!

Only 2 Paychecks Left...

This is a frightening realization. My time here on the JET Programme is coming to an end. After Tuesday's Payday (a holiday I celebrate once a month) it dawned on me that I only have two paychecks left and that small fact instigates panic. I can't complain, it's like half a million yen, but as the future of employment is currently murky... no matter how much it was, it'd seem insufficient.

Insufficient Funds.

I forget, though, that America is so cheap and ol' Nippon is so damn expensive. Of course, my "All August All Taco Diet" will also save me some dollars. Ironically, by going back, I'll be actually saving money on gas - unlike the rest of America.

So what to do with my final installments of fists of yennies? With my final yennies I'll be buying a new laptop (Black Macbook? or Macbook Pro?), sending all my winter clothes and books home. Why God did I read so many books!? I'll also be eating a shit-ton of sushi. I'll be buying a bunch of manga and Japanese books to read stateside. I'll be filling my PSP with Japan only games. I don't know what to do about the gamecube... I should also buy a bunch of shuriken and Hattori Hanzo swords. Hopefully, I'll be diligent and be able to bring back a bit of cash-o-la.

Upon stateside - regardless of a residence - I'll be buying a huge ass bed, a huge ass couch, a huge ass refrigerator, a huge ass washer/dryer set, a huge ass closet, a huge ass bathroom, a huge ass kitchen table, a huge ass desk, and a huge ass car (not a big deal, as everything is huge compared to the Toppo). Ikea is going to own my children.

This is life to this point. Daily awareness sinks in on how I'm leaving this country in a matter of weeks. I've made a list of some 13 things to do before I leave. Everything from "Apply for Jobs" to "Increase Web Anonymity". I've got a lot to do. I think I'll start with "Redo Resume", then check off "Shave and Get Skinny". Then we'll see how the rest goes.

Only 2 paychecks left...

...maybe I'll buy Arkay's New Release (plug!).

today i woke up...

... and cursed to myself 'aw, friday. i'm so tired.' then i remembered it's Tuesday. which i then remembered is Day Two in a 7 Day work week.

but it's not all bad. from Friday to Sunday I'm going with the kids to Okinawa. which wouldn't be so bad, except that Typhoon #1 is scheduled to hit there on Friday. daaang.
