so dave and i went cruising the ol' Sasa tonight. awkwardly enough, we spent the whole night hashing out a possible new episode of Veggie Tales, specifically LarryBoy. and i think it's quite good. i'm pondering writing it and sending it to Big Idea. who knows. but it's hawt to boot.

we found ourselves walking into a bar that i don't usually give my business to because... well, dave felt it too. but from the outside we saw a jazz band playing - so we went in.

inside was normal enough. we got sake from the bartender, he assured us it was made from rice. it was good enough. some time into the evening a lady walks up to me and hands me a mangy cat. it has nearly gnawed off it's own paw and i could feel the fleas jumping onto me. then... the cat just kind of stopped moving. i'm pretty sure it died on me. well, mostly dead at least. it was creepy. i'd grace it's wiskers (something cats react to) and it wouldn't even flinch. it couldn't even see my fingers in front of its face.

then the same lady who handed it to me sat next to me and made insults about us for not drinking more. i understood everything she said but i enjoyed playing the 'English Only' foreigner tonight. it was when this lady, who was kissing this mangy minging cat tried to pet my face with its gnawed off, open sore paw that i thought she might be a witch. she gave me the "i boil newts" witch kind of vibe. and tonight she put her dying cat on my lap and tried to tap my face with its bloody foot.

so dave and i have been having a good time. i've had to ditch him for work a bit, as is the case. but we have a few days left here so it's time to conquer japan. only, we have some complications because that great big train wreck was on my train line. pretty upsetting. i heard people from my town died in the derailment. as a result, i can't get into the big Osaka without a detour. but it's ok. dave and i'll do most of our locomotion by car! listening to Harry and the Potters!

2 days until i turn 400

well, it's happening. i'm turning 1000 or something like that on Saturday. which means one thing... i'm officially old. when i talk to people younger than me now and i say "I'm 25..." i'll pause and listen to them gasp at my antiquity.

"He was around during Reagan's first administration..." they'll whisper. or, "That guy knows about The Hot Pink Fad first hand..."

they'll recount the legends of yore: cold war, good transformers cartoons, horrible but nostalgically-appealing TV shows (like Charles in Charge, which isn't on DVD yet), TAB cola, and the Brat Pack.

just to put things into perspective:
Martin Luther King Jr. was 26 at the time of the Montgomery Bus Boycott.
Count (Chocula) Zinzendorf was 26 when he opened up his land in to persecuted Protestants... then the Moravian movement started...
and me, i'm 25. i got a year to make some sweet improvements in my life.
i wonder how old Scott Baio really was on Charles in Charge.

here's some more perspective, of the japanese variety:
when a girl turns 25 she becomes christmas cake. i.e. something that hangs around long after it's expiry. i think we use this in the west, but it's more definite here in japan. any girl after the age of 25 is looking to immediately append a ring to the finger (under pressure of family and society).

lo, i join the ranks.

despite the fact i'm old and recently i've only been able to think about what i will do after get-paid-a-lot-of-money-for-doing-nothing-time the JET Programme. talking to mr.lockett (pronounced "rocket" in Japan), a job recruiter, my options seem slim. back to school? dun dun duuuunn.. try nintendo? ding ding ding!

well. that's all for my melodramatic schpiel on my 4000th birthday. it should be your typical birthday fun. clowns, knife juggling, and hijacking a miniature car. dad, can wowee juggle?

actually, when mr.rocket and i step out of my tiny car it probably looks a lot like Barnum & Bailey's.

hit the elephant bailey. hit the elephant.

well. this is where my randomness has slightly offended/confused even myself.

"... he's there just to take good care of me, and i want...."

love,
mr. christmas cake.

in the coming weeks

as of now, my friend dave lockett is on a plane, on his way to Japan and will arrive 18 hours from now. excitement. i'm absolutely enthralled to have him around. and as it works out, my work-load will be pretty minimal in these next few weeks, so i'll be able to hang out with him more than i normally would. i'm so stoked. we'll talk about music, girls, wrestle, make smoothies, and raise some havoc!! beware japan!

and dave wins the prize of being the first of y'all suckaz to come visit me. boo yah!

then in two weeks or so, my cousin steve. who i visited in china, will hop the pond and come over to Japan. that'll be excellent as well. and since it's the japanese series of national holidays, called "Golden Week" by the natives, it'll be a rock'em'sock'em action packed clark-style (read: sloth-like) week. steve and i share the the same gene that prevents us from being able to make plans more than 3 days in advance.

so, lotsa action in the coming weeks. i also am going to be scraping together some Ultimate practices to repeat my big perfomance at the big tournament this may/june-ish. i'm excited about that. going to try to invite and teach some (much more athletic than i) japanese guys how to play. rawr.

alright. i'm gonna maybe squeeze out another post tonight. actually, it's late. i better not. i better gets me some phat sleep! radical!

will this never end? hopefully this is the last post then i can resume a normal blogging life. whatever that is anymore. maybe i'll whine about girls! yeah! that'd be rad!

god it just keeps going. i'm losing my steam to write. thank God the parts are spanning multiple days now. i apologize (why i don't know) to you the reader, your readership is very appreciated and i feel like i should post more for you.. but here you go, without further ado...
